Air Force Junior ROTC Flight Academy changing the face of aviation

Since the summer of 2018, 1,089 cadets have participated in the Air Force Junior ROTC Flight Academy program, such as those pictured at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., this summer. Of the 1,089 cadets, 861 succeeded in earning their private pilot certificate through the program. In the program’s first year, six universities participated by offering the eight-week pilot training course. That number has grown to 24 participating universities in 2023. (Courtesy photo)
