Economy Class syndrome
Deploying to support operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom in Southwest Asia, these Airmen from the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., could be at risk of developing deep vein thrombosis- blood clot that forms in a vein deep in the body (normally in the lower legs or thigh). Immobility while traveling long distances is one of the high-risk conditions that can lead to DVT. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Michael B. Keller)
