Airman 1st Class Madison Sylvester’s story, “Mommy Isn’t Coming Home” (Fall 2014 Torch, page 5), really tugged at my heart and made me reach for the Kleenex. It hit close to home for me. I also had an alcoholic parent … not an easy life.
