WASHINGTON D.C. --  The Air Force/A1S Directorate received a late-breaking requirement to host a conference in Crystal City, Va., to address family issues. The theme is "The Year of the Family." Our objective is to bring in the "helping professionals" from the field, solicit information and develop recommendations for targeted support to the total Air Force family. We also will look closely at support during deployments.

Our closing speaker for the conference is Staff Sgt. Matt Slaydon and his wife Annette who are featured on the cover of your May/June 2008 issue of Torch Magazine. Our plan is to distribute that magazine/article to all the attendees.
