INSPIRING AND HEARTWARMING Published July 25, 2010 By Al Saunders Via e-mail -- I just read the article "Out on a Limb" (cover story, May/June 2010 issue of Torch) on-line. Kudos to 1st Lt. Ryan McGuire for overcoming the devastation of losing his lower right leg and doing so well at the Warrior Games so soon after his injury. It's gotta be tough for a 24-year-old man with his whole life ahead of him to lose a limb, but it's inspiring and heartwarming to witness his determination to overcome his disability and never-say-die attitude when it comes to realizing his dream of being an Air Force pilot. Good luck to him; it sounds like he'll make a fine pilot.
