HONORING JERRY Published Oct. 7, 2012 By Jo Rowe Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- I read your cover story "Troubled Waters" in the Summer 2012 edition of Torch, and I could feel the deep hurt in Dave and Loida Stack's words. To the Stack family, there are no words that I can share with you to help ease your pain from the loss of your beautiful grandson, Jerry Madrigal. After reading your story, I just know in my heart that he is smiling down at you. He would never blame you for the tragedy that happened at the lake -- not the great, fun-loving boy you describe. I also know he would not want you to cry for him, but to remember only the good things he did that brought smiles to your faces. No one can tell you how long it takes to heal; but I think by sharing your story, you have brought awareness to so many others. That is something your grandson would want you to do ... a great way to honor Jerry. God bless you and your family.
